Welcome

Dear Parents and Carers,

We wish you a warm welcome to our school!

We are a social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) special school in Barking supporting young people from ages 9 to 16 who are unable to access mainstream provision due to either social, emotional or mental health needs.

I feel very fortunate to be Headteacher and both myself and my team are extremely proud of each and every one of our young people.  It is our belief that through the right guidance and support, all of our young people can achieve at the very highest level.

We have a dedicated team of highly skilled professionals who provide a holistic approach to learning in support of both the academic and the pastoral needs of our young people to provide the right pathways for them to achieve.

Our curriculum is based on meeting your child’s needs to Learn, Grow and Thrive;

  • Learn, develops pupils’ core needs through the curriculum foundations and pupils’ EHCP targets.
  • Grow develops pupils’ ‘life experience’ needs and increases their aspirations through enrichment activities and career pathways.
  • Thrive develops pupils’ well-being needs, through physical and mental health interventions.

Underpinning Learn, Grow, Thrive runs a whole school therapeutic approach based on developing relationships between you, the staff team and the pupils. Our vision demonstrates our commitment to work in partnership with the young people, their families and other agencies to improve the outcomes and equip each one of them with the skills to make a positive contribution to society.

Pathways School will also be part of the Eko Trust family of schools, with a sister school called Eko Pathways for pupils with Social Emotional Mental Health needs, in East Ham, Newham. This will provide a wealth of experience to support your child and opportunities that your child can access.

We look forward to welcoming your child and family to our school.

Yours sincerely,

Tasha Roby

Head of School
